Ask Don: My Set Registry

Posted on September 23, 2014 by 1 Comment

We are all collectors at heart. It gives me great pleasure to sit back, unwind, and enjoy my coins! Often on a Saturday morning I will spend a couple hours going through one of my collections, studying my coins and learning more about them. For security reasons, most of us keep our collections in a safety deposit box, however, I can enjoy my coins while in a comfortable chair with my laptop using the PCGS Registry and My CoinFacts! The My CoinFacts addition to the PCGS Registry is a wonderful improvement that helps me get closer to my coins (the blowup feature is far better than a magnifying glass) while keeping me informed on market activities and other important information. Check out this week’s video for a brief introduction to My CoinFacts.

Ask Don: Coin Show Etiquette

Posted on September 9, 2014 by No Comments

Coin collecting is something that can be done alone but occasionally it’s great fun to share your collecting interests with others. Meeting with fellow collectors is one of the great aspects of coin shows. Visiting with dealers can be equally enjoyable. Often I hear of uncomfortable situations arising between collectors and dealers at shows. This is usually the result of some miscommunication. All that is needed to navigate through any show is common courtesy. If you are uncomfortable with any dealer then simply walk away. Remember there are a lot of coins out there. Watch this week’s video to see my take on coin show etiquette.
