Ask Don: 2015 FUN Show Preview

Posted on December 16, 2014 by

The new year is just around the corner! 2014 has flown by but we are looking forward to an exciting 2015. The excitement begins at the Florida United Numismatists (FUN) show in Orlando. The FUN show runs from Jan. 8-10 in Orlando FL. PCGS will be taking submissions for onsite grading through Friday at 5 PM. One of the highlights of the FUN is the PCGS Set Registry luncheon on Friday. At this year’s luncheon we will have a very special announcement for all Registry members. Don’t miss it!

    Don:

I have a 1796 Draped Bust Dollar (Small Date/Large Letters and a Small Eagle I believe) in really good shape and a 1799 P Perfect Date 7/6 Stars and No Berries Draped Bust Dollar that is not quite as sharp. I believe both of these coins are fairly valuable……but ungraded.

What is the best way to start the process of selling these high end coins? Would you take them to auction, consign or sell through some other means? Thanks.
